My morning started by taking our oldest son Finley Joe to get two teeth pulled. These are his final baby teeth.
A few things struck me as he sat in that chair. First, he’s a badass. He didn’t even flinch when they put the ninth shot in his mouth to numb him. He didn’t even cry when he pulled the first tooth out and then told him he had to scrape the bone away. In truth, I may have blacked out temporarily when he said that to our 10 year old son.
Even the doctor was amazed. He told me he wished he had filmed Finley’s session so he could show children and adults how to respond to oral surgery!
It. Was. Crazy. I was beyond impressed.
When we got home he acted as if nothing had happened at all.
Then…we decorated the house for St Paddy’s day. I cannot really express in words how much I love holiday decor. It makes me so happy. It really is the little things.
Our kids love it too and it makes me happy that they are so into it.
I only wish I had more of it for all the non Christmas holidays.
Tonight we had the pleasure of watching our sweet Ellen compete in basketball. I love to watch her play. She’s a natural born leader and it’s fun to watch.
I know I sound like a broken record but good LORD I love sports. I enjoy watching kids grow in their love of the game, their joy and their confidence. It’s beautiful.
Finally I wrapped up my night reading a book snuggling my Fletcher and followed that up with watching random mindless television with my hubby.
It really is the little things in life that fill you up…at least for me!
