This weather. Thanks be to GOD. I am like a different human being when the sun is shining and we can all be outside. It was glorious to watch our kids run outside and play at a park like the corona virus isn’t still a thing. I got to visit the kids school again today and had the good fortune of being able to play a keep away game with the third grade class in the bright sunshine and it was definitely the highlight of my day. Those sweet kids were so happy to be outside, running free and laughing with their classmates. Although, the boys teams didn’t like me too much because “She’s like a giant, it’s unfair.” I haven’t laughed that hard in awhile.
In recent news, Texas and Mississippi have decided to ditch the mask mandates and are allowing businesses to operate at full capacity. The Governor or Texas, Greg Abbott says “the mandates are no longer needed.” Healthcare experts everywhere seem to disagree.
All of this got me thinking a few things. First, I cannot wait until we no longer have masks as a part of our lives…but I’m just not sure when that will be. I’m guessing in any state that ditches the mask mandate right now many people will still wear masks anyways to be safe.
Stores in both Texas and Mississippi, like Starbucks and Target, have already issued statements that they will require masks in their stores.
I guess you could say…this should be interesting.
While I pray that corona virus cases do not rise in these two states making this decision, it seems like the likelihood of that is not high. I want to take off the mask and see people smile again too…but when is the appropriate time or more importantly, when will people feel comfortable with them not being there?
I don’t know the answers to those questions, but I will be watching with a hopeful eye that our mask free time is on the horizon.
I’m also happy to report that all three adults in the Dorsey house have been vaccinated as of today! Gaga and Bryan got their first shot today.
So, the sun is shining, vaccinations are happening and there is hope in the somewhat near future that we will see people’s smiles again.
GOD is good.
