Corona Virus Quarantine Day #331: Looking for the Magic!: Friday, February 19, 2021:

It’s weird how sometimes the short weeks seem like the long ones…Can’t say I’m sad to see Friday has arrived.

We watched a movie tonight called Flora and Ulysses. It was adorable and so very interesting. The whole premise of the movie is that there is magic in the world and sometimes we forget it and don’t open our eyes to see it. We spend more time focusing on the muck. I’ll admit to doing this at times.

Then, poof, people or things come around that remind us of the magic in the world.

In the past few weeks I have been reminded of the magic in my world. Some examples…

Fletchers little voice saying “I love you mom” when I tuck him in at night. It’s too much for me to handle sometimes.

Ellen’s incredible desire to do well in everything she does. She cares so much about everything.

Finley’s work ethic. He works so hard and does the little things for people to try to make their life easier or better (like dishes).

Cooper’s enormously generous heart. He cares that other people are happy and he goes out of his way to help make people happy.

Fiona’s sense of humor and her desire to bring joy and light into the world. She makes me smile everyday.

Bryan’s incredible patience. He is the most level headed person I know.

Gaga’s goodness. It gets me every time.

My sisters sense of humor and desire to make the world a better place.

My dads excitement about the Mars Rover and listening to him talk about his genuine excitement about it!

A few young ladies I talked to today at school that have big goals and want so badly to play Varsity volleyball. Their excitement reminded me why I love what I do.

An amazing conversation with a parent. A reminder that we are all in this together.

An invitation from a good friend, even if I couldn’t make it happen.

A friends thoughtful check in and inspiration.

An unexpected hug.

The sun shining.

Laughter with colleagues in passing through the hallways.

The ability to exercise.

Making dinner with my kiddos.

Watching Cooper ice skate on our pond while his siblings cheer him on!

Praying with the kids at night.

I could go on and on. The world is full of awe and wonder and magic…We just have to slow down to see it every now and again.

I hope you all see the magic this weekend in your world.

I’m working on this…everyday.
