I can’t even begin to tell you how long it’s been since Bryan and I went on a date. Just us. Alone.
Holy moly, it was glorious. We talked, made goals for the year and discussed all we had done in 2020 and how we can get better.
I’m incredibly grateful to have had this time, even just a few hours to check in and be together without the many distractions that often get in the way.
I’m also incredibly grateful to be married to a person that shares my brain and my heart. We are so alike in so many ways and there is no one who gets me and all my intensity and ambition better. But, also, there is no one who celebrates all the things that make me, me more than Bryan and I’m so thankful for that.
So tonight, I’m putting in writing, publicly, that we need to do this more often. There will always be an excuse not to, but the fact of the matter remains…we do not go on dates enough. So I’m making a commitment and so is Bryan, to be better about making this a priority, not just for us, but also, to set a healthy example for our children.
