Corona Virus Quarantine Day #248/249: Family Photo Time and Thanksgiving: November 25/26, 2020:
I fell asleep last night at 8:30 so I didn’t get to post. But I figured the post I had planned and the post for Thanksgiving could go hand and hand. So here it goes…
First, we got our family photos back this week and they are amazing. Family photo day and I have a love hate relationship. The outfits are always an issue, getting everyone to cooperate…always a crap shoot but…if not for these photo shoots I’m not sure I’d ever be in a picture.
I think all the mom’s out there can relate.
So…here are our favorites from that fun and windy day!
Oh man these little monkey’s were on their best behavior. We had to work the hardest for Fletcher’s smiles and that must be why there are more pictures of him than anyone. But they all turned out so cute. Finley is definitely the easiest to photograph, so hence, we have the fewest pictures of him. He does what is asked and gets on out of there!
Our handsome boys. Finley, Fletcher and Cooper. Love them so much!
Our pretty girls. Fiona and Ellen. Suddenly Ellen looks like a teenager and I’m not ok with that!
Grateful to have a picture with my favorite lady! Mommy and Gaga!
I know we will always treasure these family photos, even if everyone complains about wearing “handsome clothes.”
I love the outdoor pictures…so much. Our photographer, Tamalee Baker does an amazing job! Check her out at Moment in Time Design!
Two of my favorite pictures from the whole day. They were all down there looking or fish bones for Fletcher and we were able to capture this good one. And yes, we did leave the park with several fish bones.
Be still me heart!
Had to do an outfit change. Finley Joe, our oldest by 1 minute is the sweetest soul. He spends all of his free time shooting and working to get better at basketball. Watching him out there is a source of great pride, as he works harder than most. He is very calm and mature, smart and sarcastic (just like his Daddy). He has the best laugh, loves his dog Gigi (and she loves him back) and is always the first to get up and help with the dishes.
Ellen, our 2nd oldest child is mature beyond her years, super easy to parent, asks more questions than anyone I’ve ever met…which may be why she’s so smart. She is the above and beyond kid and always does her best work no matter what she is doing. She loves to read, loves to play sports and loves to craft. Watching her do her thing on the court is one of my favorite things ever…she’s fierce. She is the sweetest 10 year old girl with a pure and beautiful heart.
Cooper, our 3rd child (by 1 and 2 minutes) has the sweetest heart in the whole world. He “sneaks” downstairs every night after lights out to talk to his Gaga and give her an extra hug and kiss. He’s the first to offer me a bite of his food or to share with this siblings. He’s great with little kids and has the goofiest personality that keeps us all laughing. He is smart, hard working, a friend to all people and loves to play sports with his twin brother. He “gets” it more than most his age and his emotional intelligence is off the charts.
This beauty is our 4th born. Fiona Bell has an incredibly generous heart and is always thinking about how she can brighten other peoples day (usually with cards). She is as sweet as she is fierce. Afraid of nothing on the court or field and loves to compete, especially with her siblings. She loves sports, especially Stanford volleyball, wearing spandex, writing letters and music. She has a big personality and an even bigger heart!
This guy…our baby…Fletcher Matthew is a wild child. He is hilarious, a friend to all people, never met a stranger kind of kid. He loves to be outside more than anywhere, loves to dig, find treasures (aka animal carcasses) and rocks. He loves our neighbor Mr. Scott and his friends. He has a smile and dimples that will absolutely work in his favor for his entire life and he has an amazing vocabulary for a 5-year-old boy. He keeps us all laughing and he keeps me on my toes!
We took these as a joke and they ended up being my favorite! I mean…seriously. This is too much. So glad we took it!
More family photos!
The barn photos were definitely my favorite…appropriate as we spend so much time there!
The many faces of Fletcher. There were legit about 20 more photos of this guy than anyone else. I think he fashioned himself a model this day!
Our photographer insists we take a few as a couple. I know I’ll be grateful long term! Wish I could keep my eyes open wider in the sunlight!Cooper and our oldest child…this sums up what I said about him earlier. This one melts my heart.
As it’s Thanksgiving we have much to be grateful for in our family…mostly, our family. To my husband, who is the most patient and practical person I know but also the most thoughtful, loving and hilarious man I know. We are all lucky to call you ours.
To my mom, who lives in our house and is an integral part of our family…we all love you so much and are so grateful for all that you do. Thank you for always being the example to which I measure myself. You make me a better person everyday.
To our 5 kids. You are our everything. Finley, Ellen, Cooper, Fiona and Fletcher you are amazing, caring, kind, hard working and smart kids. Whatever you do in life, we will be there cheering you on. Thank you (And GOD of course) for giving me the greatest gift I have ever gotten…the gift of being your mom. I live with these 7 people everyday and I’m so grateful. They are my favorites.
In addition to the people in this house we have so many other people and things to be grateful for…like jobs we love where we feel like we can make a difference in people’s lives and people to work with who challenge us and make us better.
For our parents. Bryan and I are both blessed to have been raised by great people who gave us a great start in life. We love you all Ellen, Joe, Dixie and Jim. Thank you for all you have done and do for us still.
For siblings. I get to see my sister almost everyday and we are raising our kids together. That’s a special I couldn’t have ever dreamed of. Our kids are blessed to have 9 cousins on both sides and we are thankful for all the time we get to spend together.
For our players. It is one of the greatest joys to coach and mentor you. It is beautiful to see you all grow into strong, confident young women that go out and create your own amazing families. We love you all!
I could go on and on all day…but I won’t. I pray you all have a beautiful and safe day.
I love these-especially the one with you and Brian and each of the kids individually. What treasures those will be for them in the future’
